Follow the itinerary for the ‘Col du Chardonnet’ until a plateau at 3050m. Loop around to the right towards the upper Chardonnet glacier. >Climb this glacier to its bergschrund (~3500m, can be awkward) then follow the most obvious gully (“Couloir en X”), that gives access to the NW ridge of Aiguille d'Argentière at around 3650m. >Follow this ridge to a rocky outcrop around 3750m. Go onto the N face and climb a large steep slope (often icy unfortunately) which gives access to the W summit of the Aiguille d'Argentière. >## Descent>By the same route (two 50m abseils down the ice slope and another abseil over the bergschrund), or by the ‘glacier du Milieu’.

Du refuge, traverser à niveau jusqu'à buter contre l'Arête Straton. La contourner (descente) par son point le plus bas. >Suivre l'itinéraire du Col du Chardonnet jusque vers le replat à 3050 m.>## Voie>Obliquer ensuite à droite vers le glacier supérieur du Chardonnet. Remonter ce glacier jusqu'à la rimaye (env. 3500 m), puis suivre le couloir le plus évident qui donne accès à l'arête NW de l'Aiguille d'Argentière vers 3650 m. >Suivre cette arête jusqu'au ressaut rocheux (rochers instables) vers 3750 m. Basculer dans la face N et remonter une large pente raide (souvent en glace malheureusement) qui donne accès au sommet W de l'Aiguille d'Argentière.>Poursuivre l'arête sommitale (aérienne) jusqu'au sommet principal.
