Depuis Valfroide (avec une pensée pour Georges Sonnier) suivre le Maurian NE, franchir le verrou sous le lac du Goléon puis descendre en tournant NW, remonter vers le chalet Carraud. Le Col Lombard ne se voit qu'une fois passée la pointe Salvador. En été, on suit l'[itinéraire balisé 18 de _chemin d'avant_](http://www.cheminsdavant.com/) jusqu'à la bifurcation goléon/lombard (poteau 18, emplacement de bivouac).
