Du hameau des Granges à Hauteluce (pas de parking, se garer au parking de l'Infernet situé à 1,3km), suivre le chemin d'été qui, au-dessus du hameau, s'enfonce rapidement en forêt par un itinéraire assez raide (souvent peu enneigé). L'itinéraire passe par la Montaz puis continue en forêt dans la direction NE jusqu'aux chalets de la Commanderie Bas (table de pique nique sur le côté du chalet) puis de la Commanderie Haut. Ensuite progresser vers l'E vers un col à 1869 m duquel on rejoint facilement le Dôme de la Girotte (1926 m) par sa face S dans la direction NNW. >##Descente>Par l'itinéraire de montée.
