Depuis le refuge de Vallonbrun, atteindre le col du Vallonbrun par le versant S. Suivre ensuite facilement la crête à l'antécime de la Pointe SW du Chatelard. Le couloir part de la brèche entre les 2 sommets 10 m plus loin.>##Descente>Par le couloir directement, puis vers 3100 m traverser à droite pour atteindre une selle large, de laquelle on traverse encore jusqu'à rejoindre l'itinéraire de montée vers 2900 m.
