Seit 3. Dezember 2024 ist der Fußweg ins Hallstätter Hochtal aufgrund Bauarbeiten bis zum Frühling gesperrt. Eine Begehung ist aus Sicherheitsgründen nicht möglich. Ab 29.08.2026 steht die neue Standseilbahn um ins Hallstätter Hochtal zu gelangen zur Verfügung.
Der Salzbergweg von Hallstatt Ort zur Talstation der Salzbergbahn ist begehbar.
