Du Bersend depuis la chapelle (1120 m) suivre le chemin balisé jaune indiqué Col du Pré. Ce sentier coupe régulièrement la route forestière (cette route est interdite sur le bas pour cause de glissement de terrain). Arrivé à 1472 m passer auprès d'un abri forestier ensuite le chemin passe près d'un oratoire. Continuer SE pour rejoindre la route et le col du Pré après une longue traversée SE plate et pour finir légèrement descendante.>##Descente>Par le même itinéraire.>###Variante>Possibilité de descendre sur Arêches par une combe évidente au départ. Vers 1400 m trouver une route d'alpage, la suivre pour retrouver peu après un chemin descendant sur le hameau de Boudin (en hiver la route est dégagée jusqu'à ce hameau). Poursuivre la descente par le chemin jusqu'à Arêches.
