Suivre le chemin sur environ 1.5 km, puis, vers le point coté 1587 m, obliquer vers le S, d'abord à travers les champs, puis au mieux dans la forêt. Vers 1760 m, on traverse la route forestière de Bouche Clause. De là, suivre une éclaircie dans la forêt, couloir d'avalanche en provenance du flanc NO du Pic Haut. >Remonter le couloir à droite, sous le couvert de la forêt. Sous le point 2266 m, passage un peu raide en traversée pour rejoindre une zone plus plate dans le fond du couloir. Poursuivre vers le SW, pour rejoindre des pentes plus faibles qui montent à gauche vers le SE. >On arrive sur un collet (2472 m) entre le Pic Haut à gauche et la Croix des Enfers à droite.
